                       Tips for a Spring Filled w/ Self Care
Spring is finally here, which means it is time to wipe off those winter blues and start this spring off with a fresh start. Not only do I love to spring clean my home, but I also love to spring clean my mind and body with some goals that I set for myself to accomplish. The winter is always dark and dreary and so I make it a goal to find strength and joy in even the little things once spring rolls around. Here are some tips to try if you want to start your spring with a new look too!
  1. Take time to identify the activities and actions that make you feel good.
  2. Light a candle and fill your home with your favorite scent.
  3. Visit your favorite spot in the city where you live.
  4. Reread one of your favorite books or find a book you have always wanted to read and finish it.
  5. Take time for yourself.
  6. Write down a list of things you are thankful for.
  7. Spend time outside.
  8. Exercise your body and mind.
  9. Turn off your phone for one day or just unplug from social media.
  10. Take a nap.
  11. Splurge a little.
  12. Watch a show that is funny or comforting.
  13. Get a massage.
  14. Read inspirational quotes or listen to inspirational stories and speeches.
  15. Bake your favorite treats simply because you want to.
  16. Plant flowers, plants or vegetables.
  17. Declutter your living space.
  18. Take a class you have always wanted to take.
  19. Take a nice long bath.
  20. Make future plans for a trip you’re excited about.
I usually pick between 5-10 of these each spring and make sure I follow through with them. Then once those are complete and I am still up to the task, I try and see how many more I can accomplish. I promise, if you allow yourself the time and energy to complete some of these tasks, you will find your spring and the seasons following will be filled with a new, more positive perspective.
